The discovery of coffee:
Legend has it that in the 9th century, a young shepherd, Kaldi, who was grazing his goats in the mountains of Abyssinia was surprised by their excitement after they had bitten the seeds of a small shrub.
He picked a few handfuls and took them to the monks of a nearby convent.
They made a decoction of it, tasted this beverage and appreciated it for its ability to keep them awake during their long nocturnal prayers where until then they had dozed.
To preserve the virtues of our CBD, we looked for which coffees would be best suited. We should not distort the taste of high quality coffee, while highlighting our CBD.
We tested several coffees, robusta and arabica.
These 2 species of coffee trees are native to Africa, the Congo basin for robusta, and Ethiopia for arabica.
The Robusta variety coffee tree is, as its name suggests, more robust than Arabica.
This tree is in fact very resistant to many diseases, attacks by insects and parasites, and grows at lower altitudes than Arabica. Its performance is higher.
In terms of taste qualities, Arabica is richer in aromas, softer and more subtle.
Robusta is more full-bodied, earthy, with a powerful taste and more bitterness.
Its caffeine level is twice that of Arabica.
In Italy, Robusta is considered the coffee of excellence!
In conclusion, each variety will have its supporters and detractors.
It's all a matter of personal taste.
The health benefits of its consumption no longer need to be demonstrated.
